  • Investigation into kidnapping, robbery of senior citizen ongoing; police seeking information

    Lethbridge Police continue to actively investigate an incident that occurred just over a year ago where a senior citizen was kidnapped from her southside home and robbed.

    Over the past year police have pursued numerous avenues of investigation, but to date no charges have been laid. In an effort to generate more tips and new leads, police are sharing previously undisclosed details about the incident and are asking anyone who may have information that could assist investigators to come forward.

  • Police apprehend four impaired drivers during targeted traffic enforcement project

    Lethbridge Police, with assistance from Alberta Sheriffs, apprehended four impaired drivers and issued 69 tickets – mostly for equipment violations –  during a targeted traffic enforcement project that will continue throughout the summer.

    The goal of the enforcement initiative is to provide safer roads for all users by targeting speeding, excessive vehicle noise, racing, stunting and other illegal behaviours in areas throughout the city where members of the public have reported concerns. Similar operations were conducted in 2022 and 2023 to help address the concerns and reduce violations.

  • Missing woman located

    Kathleen Kearns who was previously reported as missing has been located. Police would like to thank the public for sharing the message.

  • Police investigating assault with a weapon, seeking witnesses

    Lethbridge Police are investigating an incident where a male was assaulted following a dispute over property at an encampment site.

  • Ongoing initiative targeting crime and disorder downtown continues to yield results

    Lethbridge Police stopped an assault in progress, after covert officers working along 5 Street South observed the attack of a business owner and immediately intervened, taking the subject – who continued to fight with police – into custody. The arrest was part of an enforcement project targeting crime and social disorder downtown.

  • Police charge male with criminal harassment

    Lethbridge Police have charged a 30-year-old male with criminal harassment in connection with six separate incidents where females were approached and solicited.

  • Police lay charges after officers arrest fraudster in the act

    Lethbridge Police have charged a 41-year-old male with fraud after he was apprehended attempting to collect money from a senior citizen targeted in a grandparent scam.

  • UPDATE: CompStat Subject Arrested
    As a result of information received from the public, and the quick actions of LPS, CompStat subject Tyler Aubrey Johnson has been located and arrested. Police thank the media and the public for sharing the information.
  • Police charge man with assault with a weapon, seeking video evidence from public to assist ongoing investigation

    Lethbridge Police are asking anyone with video evidence of an incident involving a man with a weapon walking south on Mayor Magrath Drive on April 11, 2024 to come forward.

  • Police reminding drivers to slow their roll

    The Lethbridge Police Service is reminding motorists to slow down, pay attention to the road and always obey the posted speed limit to help keep everyone safe.
