Pay Duty Officers

Individuals, groups or organizations planning a special event are able to request a Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) Pay Duty Officer. Paid for by your organization, these officers provide a police presence and ensure the safety and support of events such as concerts, sporting events, traffic control, road construction, festivals, wide load escorts, film shoots, etc....

To book a pay duty with LPS, fill out and submit the form linked below. We will be in touch with you to further explain the process.

When booking Pay Duty Officers, please be aware that:

  • Requests should be received, at least, 15 business days in advance of the event
  • The LPS cannot guarantee officer availability for all requests
  • Partial hours are billed at the full hourly rate
  • The LPS reserves the right to determine the number of officers required for an event based upon a risk assessment
  • LPS will provide Pay Duty Officers once all parties agree and officers are available to fulfill the request

The current Pay Duty Officer rate is:

  • $166/hour/member (plus GST) with a three (3) hour minimum billing fee
  • One (1) hour travel time fee of $83/hour/member (plus GST)
